This was an old, tiled roof we removed and renewed on a property in Altrincham, Cheshire. First, we removed the existing roof tiles (old clay double Romans) to expose the felt and battens beneath, which had experienced significant water damage, denoted by the white staining of saltwater on the 1F underlay. this was then also removed along with the roof battens.
New breathable felt and treated tile battens were then installed, a bonding gutter to the joint of this and the neighbouring property, with a new rainwater system. We then installed a new Ludlow Major tiled roof, front and back, with dry verge to the gable ends and dry ridge system to the roof apex.
