This was a GRP fibreglass gully, slate roof and triple Velux window installation project in Manchester. First, we had to form a GRP gully, this was done as one complete unit due to the gully sitting against a neighbouring property wall and the problems that it could cause with sitting snow getting under the usual leadwork flashing, we would install. Instead, we used a GRP preformed flashing trim into the wall, overlapping the joint to completely watertight this section.
We then fitted a lead welded outlet point at the gully end, angle formed this end to remove as much excess water as possible before completing the 3 layer GRP part of this project. We then sat the velux roof lights in position in the roof, fitted the new felt and battens before installing the new slate reroof along with all lead flashings to the side and top of the slate roof.
