Roof Roofers - Roof Survey

Homebuyers Roofing Surveys & Reports

When it comes to purchasing a property, it is vital to ensure that you are making a sound investment. A crucial part of the purchasing process is the Homebuyers Survey, which is undertaken on your behalf to check the condition of the building structure and roof. However, more often than not, the roofing side of the survey can be left a little lacking, which can be a concern for potential buyers.

What is a Homebuyers Survey?

A Homebuyers Survey is a report that provides an overview of the condition of the property you are interested in purchasing. It is conducted by a professional surveyor who will assess the condition of the building structure, electrical systems, plumbing, and other essential elements of the property. The surveyor will then provide a report detailing any issues found, along with recommendations for repair or further investigation. This report is essential, as it helps potential buyers make informed decisions about the property they are interested in.

Why is a Roof Survey Important?

One of the most important parts of a Homebuyers Survey is the roof inspection. The condition of the roof is critical as it protects the entire property from the elements. If the roof is damaged or in poor condition, it can lead to significant issues such as water leaks, which can cause damage to the interior of the property. This can result in costly repairs and can even make the property uninhabitable until the issues are resolved.

The Importance of a Comprehensive Roof Survey

Unfortunately, many Homebuyers Surveys do not include a comprehensive roof inspection, which can lead to potential buyers being left in the dark about the condition of the roof. More often than not, the surveyor will only view the roof from either the attic space or from any vantage point they can find, usually down below at pavement level. This approach can be problematic, as it may miss crucial issues that are not visible from these vantage points.

Our Survey Includes

At DM Roofing, we understand the importance of a comprehensive roof inspection. We will carry out a full roof inspection on your behalf, with video footage so you can see exactly what we are seeing. We will check the overall condition of the roof and point out any broken, missing, or slipped slates/tiles, and the potential for any further issues with the roof system. We will also check the condition of any chimneys and leadwork on the property, along with a full check of your rainwater systems and make sure they are working correctly. Basically, anything the original surveyor couldn’t reach, we will survey and hopefully put your mind at rest.

How Much Does a Roof Survey Cost?

We understand that purchasing a property is a significant investment, and the costs involved can quickly add up. That is why we offer our comprehensive Homebuyers Roofing Survey at an affordable price. The full package, based up to and including a 3 bedroom semi-detached home, is – £180.00 (all inc’).
